Are you a Competent Leader?

We are in week 3 of our Wildflower Sisterhood curriculum sneak peak on today’s podcast episode where we talk about how we bloom as leaders today. The 3rd phase of a wildflower is the blooming stage. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰.

During the episode we dive into the 7 Core Competencies of leaders. How can one know if they are Competent if they do not first understand what makes someone competent right!

🌻𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔🌻

🌞Communication. Being able to successfully convey or share your ideas and feelings.

🌞Decision-making. The ability to act on a solution to solve a problem. Doing what is necessary despite the emotions involved.

🌞Emotional Intelligence. Being aware of our own emotions, being able to regulate them and understand what motivates us, while having empathy for others.

🌞Social Intelligence. Is about our actions. Understanding them and why we do them.

🌞Problem-Solving. The method of gathering facts, identifying the problem and potential solutions.

🌞Integrity. I think sometimes integrity is misunderstood. According to Google it is the act of upholding your values, owning your mistakes and prioritizing your employees/team members/volunteers well being.

🌞Innovation. Creativity and a willingness to take risks.

What areas are you strong in and what areas do you need to grow in? Make a growth plan. Put a sticky note up to remind yourself to reflect or practice a certain skill. Focus on one area at a time.

Be sure to tune in today’s episode to get all of the goodness!
